Many organizations in today’s economy are reducing their workforce and freezing hiring and/or salaries while pushing everyone to “do more with less.” While perhaps necessary, these actions can negatively impact employee morale and productivity over time. However, with companies in the news like AIG, who took heat for lavish trip rewards and bonuses on the heels of receiving federal bail out money, many organizations may be reluctant to spend on employee morale and engagement. In February, Dawn, Charles and Janice traveled to Atlanta to attend the two-day Hogan Assessment Certification workshop which provided an in-depth understanding of how to use and interpret the Hogan Assessment Suite. The workshop offered a comprehensive tutorial on three Hogan inventories: Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI); Hogan Development Survey (HDS); and Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI). Upon completion of the workshop, they joined Sarah in being certified to use the Hogan inventories. Sarah completed the certification training in July of 2008. The Hogan, in combination with the Leadership Versatility Index, set the stage for a high impact coaching experience.
In addition, Sarah just returned on March 6th from attending two Hogan Advanced workshops. “Using the Leadership Forecast Series for Development” provided in-depth instruction regarding how to use the Leadership Forecast Series, including the Coaching Report, to build an individual development plan that can serve as the foundation for a coaching engagement. She also learned more about the Hogan Performance Model and how it can be used as a basis for integrating assessment data from a variety of sources. “Using the Leadership Forecast Series for Team Building” focused onevaluating team-based data to facilitate team development through customized training and consultation. Sarah added this Hogan series to her toolkit for identifying team development strategies and conducting comprehensive team-building experiences.
