Barbara McClure (“Bar”) is an award-winning learning facilitator and coach. She has worked in Leader Development and Team/Organizational Culture areas for over 15 years, helping companies develop their managers into highly effective, productive, and energizing leaders.

As an executive coach and workshop facilitator, Bar serves AvoLead clients to realize more fully their potential and increase their value to teams and companies. By leveraging her extensive training and experience with individuals and groups, she helps raise energy, focus, motivation, and productivity. Using a variety of tools including best-quality assessments and feedback instruments, Bar is skilled and experienced at turning leaders around before they derail, at coaching good leaders to become great leaders, and at bringing teams together for increased cooperation and better work. She is practiced at significantly increasing persons’ leadership skills, enhancing their ability to understand individuals and organizations for effective interventions, and in guiding them towards more efficient work strategies. Bar has supported leaders through difficult performance conversations and has helped many high-potentials successfully navigate their promotions and reach their highest level of achievement.

Bar has been described as a wise and trustworthy guide. She is a trained interpreter of multiple assessment instruments utilized among Fortune 500 companies including Voices 360, the Hogan Leadership Forecast Suite, and the Emergenetics Profile assessment.

Bar holds a Master’s degree from Princeton Seminary in Princeton, NJ, and a Ph.D. from Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

She is a tenured professor who has served on the faculties of several large universities including Vanderbilt, Emory and Texas Christian. She is the author of numerous articles and her newest book, Emotions and the Flourishing Life: Implications for persons, teams, and organizations, will be published next year with Baylor University Press.

She has lived all over the world and enjoys reading, hiking, board games, and cooking with her husband, Tim, and their children.
