Denison Culture Survey®

The Denison Organizational Culture Survey® Assessment

denision-organizational-culture-surveyThe purpose of the Denison Organizational Culture Survey® (DOCS) is to link organizational culture to bottom-line results. DOCS provides a measure of an organization’s progress toward achieving a high-performance culture and optimum results.

The DOCS is a 60-item survey developed by Daniel R. Denison and William S. Neale, M.A., M.I.L.R., that measures the specific aspects of an organization’s culture based on four cultural traits and twelve management practices of the Denison Model. The four cultural traits are:

  • Involvement
  • Adaptability
  • Consistency
  • Mission

DOCS links these traits to bottom-line performance measures such as profitability, quality, innovation, and market share.

Individual surveys are collectively tabulated into a graphical profile that compares the organization’s culture to global normative database of over 700 higher and lower-performing organizations. Repeated use of the Denison Organizational Culture Survey® provides a measure of the organization’s progress toward achieving a high-performance culture and optimum performance. The survey and the prescriptive suggestions are written in easily understood business terms, making it a powerful and user-friendly tool in AvoLead’s wide-ranging toolbox.
