Beth Dixson

Beth Dixson serves AvoLead clients as an executive coach, facilitator, trainer and program designer. Drawing on more than 22 years experience in international business, government and academic settings, she is known by clients for her special ability to enhance self awareness – helping individuals blend hopes and concerns with the realities of circumstance in order to achieve a higher level of potential, resilience and life satisfaction.

The focus of her life’s work has been the human side of organizational change. Individuals seeking to maximize their potential from the inside out in the face of the demanding circumstances resulting from mergers, downsizing, expansions and cultural shifts welcome Beth’s open and friendly manner and solid judgment.

An accomplished executive coach and group facilitator, Beth is qualified to administer and interpret a wide range of psychological instruments. She is also qualified to teach certification classes for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and BarOn EQI. Her personal business expertise can be attributed to her experience in a leadership position with a Fortune 100 company along with extensive post-graduate studies in counseling, negotiation and organizational transition.

When she’s not serving AvoLead clients, Beth works with clients of Core Communication, the Raleigh-based consulting firm where she has served as Principal consultant since 1993. She also works with executive level participants of programs at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). Her lengthy adjunct faculty relationship with CCL includes roles as facilitator/trainer and coach for key leaders with global reach.

Throughout her impressive career, Beth has had the privilege of coaching officer and senior executive level clients with P&L responsibility in the diplomatic, healthcare, military, governmental, technical, broad business, education and energy sectors. She has worked with foreign governmental officials and local business leaders, helping each to navigate the personal and professional challenges of today’s unprecedented business landscape. She is especially effective in her work with leaders seeking to move up and move on in their careers, and with companies seeking to develop their next generation of leaders.

A lifelong learner, Beth has a BA from Mercer University, a Masters degree from Emory University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and course work towards a Masters of Education from the University of Georgia. She has also studied Space Planning at the Brookings Institution, the AIA and the National Archives; Negotiation at Harvard University; and Leading Organizational Transition with William Bridges.

Beth resides in Raleigh, NC with her husband Bob and three well-fed cats. Beth and Bob enjoy exploring new places, especially if they can see them from their canoe. Early work with Upward Bound as a tutor and counselor has inspired Beth to remain close to the hopes and dreams of young people as a mentor. She also has been known to sing a tune or two with choirs and civic groups, including an unforgettable Sunday afternoon performing Mozart’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall.
